Rep. Mike Garcia Announces He'll Donate Part of Congressional Salary
Congressman will donate 10% of his gross monthly salary to a non-profit located within the 25th District

Washington, D.C. – Representative Mike Garcia announced this morning that he intends to donate 10% of his gross monthly congressional salary to a non-profit charity or organization within California’s 25th District each month. In the wake of the COVID-19 response, workers and the local economy need more help than ever. Countless charity organizations have taken leading roles in providing much-needed resources for our communities over the last three months.

“Throughout my entire life, I have felt this inherent need to serve my country and my community,” said Rep. Mike Garcia. “Even now, in my new role in Congress, I cannot help but be inspired by so many organizations that give so selflessly to help those who need it the most. I am proud to announce that I am committing 10% of my gross monthly congressional salary to non-profit organizations throughout California’s 25th District. Politicians should not be immune from the economic impacts of COVID-19, and we need to get in the boat and help row. Now is the time to help those who have helped us. I am honored to help the local economy and community with this financial commitment.”

Members of Congress and their staff are paid on the last day of each month. Representative Garcia will decide what non-profit will be the recipient towards the end of each month.
