Today, Representative Mike Garcia (R-Santa Clarita) announced that the State of California will receive over $2.5 million in federal funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help Ventura County combat COVID-19. The state is responsible for distributing this funding that will support emergency protective measures related to COVID-19 in Ventura County. 

“I am glad that FEMA is providing Ventura County with additional federal funding to help the county combat COVID-19,” said Garcia. “It is imperative that our community receives the support necessary that allows us to swiftly and safely open back up again. I will continue to work to ensure that California’s 25th District receives the assistance they need, and I stand ready to help however I can. These are trying times, but we will get through this together.”

Last month, Representative Garcia introduced the Vaccinate More Americans Act. His bill would help ensure that more Americans have swifter access to COVID-19 vaccines and help eliminate vaccine waste. Learn more about the bill here.
