Representative Mike Garcia (R-Santa Clarita) cosponsored his first piece of legislation for the 117th Congress, a bill that would help to relieve national debt and balance the budget. One of Garcia’s top priorities in Congress is to decrease the national debt. Currently, our national debt is in many ways a threat to our national security. 

“Since day one, one of my top priorities in Congress is to reform Washington’s broken budget process and tackle one of the largest threats to our nation’s security: the national debt,” said Garcia. “That’s why the first bill I cosponsored this year is one that would add a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution, which would help us relieve the national debt. I will continue to fight to ensure that we can pay off the $27 trillion in crippling debt we face today, something that remains a threat to our national security.”
